Personal Educational Philosophy Statement
It is my belief that all students should receive learning experiences that are meaningful and exciting. Today's students are faced with many challenges. They are continually being forced to learn more information at a quicker pace and at an earlier age. My teaching goal is to provide each student that enters into my classroom the necessary skills to solve real world problems in their everyday life, while at the same time making it fun for them to learn. I believe that all students should feel comfortable, safe, and supported in their learning environments to create open and accepting relationships with others.
My career as a teacher started later after being in business administration for over ten years. The desire to become a teacher stemmed from positive role models throughout my education and from a long line of family and friends who were also educators. Throughout my jorney to become a teacher, I have had the support from my family and friends who have helped me establish my career goals and objectives.
My teaching style can be best described and hands-on, challenging, and diverse. I believe that all students learn in multiplelearning styles and it is my duty to make sure that I am reaching all of them. By doing this, I believe that all students will achieve academic success and build self confidence to become self motivated life long learners. Children learn best when they are engaged in lessons and learning becomes personal to them.
Making personal connections with students and creating authentic learning environments are two of my biggest strengths as a teacher. I strive to create learning environments that promote discovery learning through hands-on activities in which students mustapply knowledge and skills learned to solve problems in authentic learning situations. As I continue to strive to be a life-long learner myself, I hope that I can motivate my students to share that same love by integrating technology and multimedia resources into my daily lessons. Not only will I integrate technology into daily lessons, I will also help students learn how to use technology to be more productive at school and also in their daily lives. As our world continues to evolve around us, I will strive to keep pace and provide my students with all of the necessary tools they will need to be successful and productive memebers of society.
It is my hope that my students will learn as much from me as I have learned from them. I have learned to be proactive in my own learning and share my knowledge with others freely from my students, parents, collegues, and community.
